Bell Family Foundation announces partnership with Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries
Press Release: San Antonio, TX September 20, 2011
The Bell Family Foundation, based out of San Antonio, is pleased to announce their partnership with Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries of Boerne, Texas. Their partnership will focus on the Stand By Me student mentoring program, which serves at-risk youth in Kendall County. Started in 2005, Stand By Me (SBM) currently serves over 50 students. These students, in grades K-12, meet once a week with their adult Christian mentors and focus on three central areas of growth: academic, emotional, and spiritual.
In addition to the mentoring program, the Bell Family Foundation is supporting the Stand By Me Summer Academy, which will be an innovative education program integrated with computer software and life skills development targeting students in grades 7-12. These at-risk students are frequently behind academically and socially and live in crisis because of issues they daily encounter such as poverty, broken family relationships, absent fathers, and repeated poor choices. The seven-week program is designed to accelerate the youth beyond their current grade level. Students will also have the opportunity to interact with local government officials, hear motivational speakers, visit college campuses, and receive life skill development information.
About the Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries: Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries/SBM is committed to assisting these students because we know that their future success is dependent upon their educational progress supported by a healthy long- term mentoring relationship. Without this opportunity these students will not reach their full God given potential.
